The Numbers
The below figures are for a south facing 4 kWp system on a typical domestic property.
- A 4kWp system can generate 3,434 kWh of electricity every year (SAP).
- With a tariff rate of 21p this amounts to an income of £721.14 per years.
- If you use 50% of the energy you generate you save 1717 kWh per year every year.
- If you are paying a typical 13p per kWh for your electricity you save £223.21 per year.
- If you are using 50% you are exporting 50%. If the export tariff remains at 3.1p you get an additional £53.23 per year.
The total income and the savings come to £997.58 per year.
4kWp system’s with Cambridge Solar start at just under £10,000.
